Todd's parents exposed him to music at an early age by playing classical music from Mozart and Beethoven, to help him fall asleep. They also took him to concerts, where he would get in trouble for singing along with the sopranos.

Todd soon began banging around on his Grandmother's piano. She gave Todd's family the piano, and he began taking lessons in third grade.

He discovered Rock and Roll during elementary school, formed his first band in junior high school, and by the time he was in high school, Todd was an in-demand keyboard player. After high school, Todd studied theory and composition with the eclectic composer Barney Childs during a summer seminar at the University of Redlands. Todd received a scholarship to UNLV, where he studied Classical and Jazz piano performance, as well as Composition. He left UNLV early to pursue a professional playing career. He has played in everything from crappy bands to showroom orchestras, and has had to perform nearly every possible style of music.

He most recently played for the American Superstars show in Vegas for 6 years. Since he left the show, he has been teaching piano at his home, to over 40 students of all ages, on the same piano that his Grandmother gave him.

Since Todd joined the band in September 2000, YBR was able to leap to the next level. Mastering solos note-for-note is no problem, and when he's not taking a solo, Todd completes the YBR sound by filling in all the details and nuances that would otherwise be missing, as well as adding great vocal harmonies. Todd can also be found rolling around on the floor at times. View James Sloan's Bio >>
